If you have a faulty projector, please bring it to us as we repair home theatre and business projectors across Sydney.
At Newton's Nerds we like to consider ourselves projector repair specialists. There are numerous things that can go wrong with home theatre and business projectors. The most common problem is that the lamp has failed. Our technicians can quickly diagnose this problem and install a new lamp. Another common problem is overheating. This tends to be a problem with older projectors that have had time to collect dust. As with computers, projectors collect a lot of of dust which insulates the components and leads to a build up of heat. Sometimes more major problems to the hardware require parts to be replaced.

So which is better PC or Mac? It really depends on what you use your computer for. Many people with less computer skills find Macs to be more user friendly and reliable and PCs. However, many people seem to prefer the ease with which their cheaper PCs can be customised. Traditionally, PCs have been cheaper than Macs, although the gap has lessened in recent years. Windows has become a more stable and user friendly operating system in its latest incarnation, Windows 7, taking some user friendly features from Mac OS.
Although Mac has made a comeback in the past decade. Microsoft has the leading share in the world's operating system market. This is at least partly because Windows is compatible with hardware produced by companys such as Dell, IBM etc. In the other hand, Mac has always built both its own software AND its own hardware. This has perhaps had the effect of restricting its spread. Many people find this fact makes them turn away from Mac, as they like to be able to customise their computers and mix and match hardware to build their own computers. It really depends on personal preference, but we would recommend Macs for those with lower computer skills and PCs for those with higher skills. This is not to say that Macs are inferior, in fact they are more user friendly. However, there are some things people like to be able to do with PCs that are difficult, or impossible, to do with Macs such as custom building computers. Sam Moreton Computer Technician Newtons Nerds Hello world. Today we faced an interesting case where a client had her network card fried by an electrical storm. While the dangers of storms for computers is partly a thing of the past the dangers are still real. What made this case an interesting case for computer repair was that although the network card had been damaged the motherboard was intact. Note to self: always turn off computers during a storm.
Hello Internet Users.
Today was a good day for Newton's Nerds Computer Repairs. Not only have we made many changes to the site, making it more user friendly, but we managed to work through some difficult tech work. The site now features photos of the Nerds so you can see who we are rather than hidden behind walls of binary. Over the last several years, our team has improved in many ways. There is almost no computer repair problem we have not seen now. Of interest of late we seem to be getting a lot of work to do with Macs, specifically Mac laptop repairs. This makes for a welcome change from PCs and keeps our knowledge of Macs up to scratch. Although our technicians have been working with Macs since the 90s, constant changes in technology mean a technician has to constantly keep learning as newer models and technology becomes available. As the demand for Macbook repairs has grown, we have quite the expertise in the area, which means less time spent diagnosing and fixing a problem, which means passing on the savings to you. At Newton's Nerds we pride ourself on being large enough to service any job, yet being small enough to maintain a face to the company and providing great service. Hopefully this blog will be updated daily from here on in so watch this space for further news from the Nerds. |
