Finding Transactions
Purpose
The find transaction module allows you to search through record payments. This data can then be used to generate custom reports, check payments, or simply check what you have previously recorded.
Procedure
1. Open MYOB

Procedure
1. Open MYOB
2. Click on the Payroll button
3. You can now choose to search by Account, Card, Item, Invoice, Bill, Category, Job, or Payroll Category. To choose how you are going to search click the respective tab.
Account:

When searching by account you can find items according to the account you allocated them to. This is particularly useful when looking for all of one type of expense.
Card:

When searching by card you are looking for transaction based whom they were paid to or paid from. This is particularly useful when looking payments by or to a particular person.

Job:
Job:
When searching by job you are searching according to the job code you have allocated it. For example Sydney or Melbourne centres. This is particularly useful when looking for transactions by profit centre.
Payroll Category:

When searching by payroll category you are searching according to the job code you have allocated it. For example you could search for all annual leave payments. This is particularly useful when you need to find a particular type of payment for your employees.
4. You can select a date range. For example to find all transactions in the last financial year set the “From date” to the 1/7/2011 and the “To date” to 30/6/2012.
After you have entered the “To date” press the tab key to start the search.
Tip: If you want to find a transaction you have just entered be sure to press the refresh button (indicated by the green circular arrow in the top right corner of the screen).

5. If you need to further filter down your options click Advanced.
6. In the advanced filter window you can set to search by ID, Amount, and even the payee value. This is particularly useful when looking for a particular type of transaction.
7. When you have set the search parameters as you want click Close.
